The Mayor's Award for Service to the Community.
In April I was thrilled to receive the above award. Over the past 20 years we have produced 52 fashion shows raising over £135,000 for local and national charities. Our shows have become an annual event and are produced with a strict eye to costs so that as much money as possible goes to the chosen charity.
During those years we have been helped by various sponsors, chiefly Rensberg Sheppards Investment Management. We have also had tremendous support from Harrington's Hair Care, Clarins at House of Fraser, Mad Murdoch Music, Hugh Harris Menswear Hire and Wordbox PR who have turned out show after show giving their services and time for free.
The Serendipity team has changed little over the years and all have given generously of their time and skills to the shows. Mary Amos, our shop manager, has worked on the shows for the past 14 years - firstly as a model then as organiser behind the scenes overseeing the smooth running of the shows.
I would also like to give special mention to all the charities we have worked with over the years. These are mostly run by unpaid volunteers and the shows could not take place without their and their committees' support.
Thank you
Dee
